Auckland mayoral hopeful says the city should have 13 associate mayors

Auckland mayoral candidate John Lehmann reckons the City of Sails could do with 13 more mayors than it already has, Newsroom reveals. If elected, Lehmann would implement an associate mayor for each of the 13 wards in Auckland to provide a direct point of contact to the council – something he said is lacking. “People have been telling me the council is a nightmare to deal with. People feel they get shoved from piler to post and that must stop.”
