255 traffic jams around Auckland – we can do better

Auckland Council’s Transport Plan is not anti-car – it’s pro-people, says Newsroom. It will free up roads for those who need them most. The plan is designed to give people more transport options so they choose not to use their cars as much. Auckland’s traffic is ranked as the 66th worst in the world; 5pm on one average Wednesday afternoon clocked 255 traffic jams around the city totalling 214.6km. Further, Auckland’s traffic fumes caused an estimate 939 premature deaths in 2016.
