Auckland waterfront bar and restaurant Headquarters will officially close for good with a “two day soiree” in May, Stuff reports. Controversial businessman, Leo Molloy, who owns the inner-city establishment, announced the bar will close on May 21, the day before he officially enters the running for Auckland mayor. “Clearly I can’t be mayor and operate a hospitality business of that magnitude,” he said. The venue is under lease arrangement through Viaduct Harbour Holdings and that lease is up for renewal in May.
