Bookings are now open for the 2021 household inorganic collection service, Auckland Council has announced. The inorganic service aims to upcycle unwanted household items by giving them “a second home.” Every year, residents who upcycle keep more than 1500 tonnes of materials out of landfill. An on-property pick up can be ordered for unwanted household items, which collectors will then sort on collection day. Items will go to community groups and charities, with 150+ community groups registered so far. Acceptable items include electronics, whiteware, and furniture.
