‘Takeout Kids’ is a celebration of food and whānau

From kids taking orders to high schoolers navigating classroom presentations, the new fly-on-the-wall doco series Takeout Kids follows four young New Zealanders growing up in their parents’ restaurants or takeaway shops. Participants include Rama Khalid whose parents run Jordanian restaurant Petra Shawarma in Auckland, says The Spinoff. Director Julie Zhu (East Meets East, Conversations With My Immigrant Parents) was born in China and grew up in Tāmaki Makaurau.
