New Zealand’s first community hub dedicated to combatting period poverty is just months away from opening, Stuff reports. Not-for-profit The Period Place, which started its mission in 2017, will soon open its doors on Onehunga Mall. Chief Executive Danika Revell said the hub will be a multi-use space where anyone can go to purchase New Zealand-made period underwear, menstrual cups, pads and tampons, choose whatever free products they need, or receive information. The organisation is crowdfunding to raise $20,000 towards paying rent for the hub’s first year in business.
