Spokesperson for National backs call for supercity probe as part of local government inquiry

National Party local government spokesperson Christopher Luxon is calling for an in-depth inquiry looking at the successes and failures of the supercity. He says this is needed to address many of Auckland’s growth problems 10 years on, Stuff reports. Luxon also said Auckland faces a number of problems, from the funding and cost of infrastructure to transport and housing. His comments come after another call from Auckland Council planning committee chairman Chris Darby for a review of the supercity.
