New Zealand’s key port for imports, Ports of Auckland, is hopeful that many importers might see a return to relatively normal wait times towards the end of April, Stuff reports. The massive congestion has resulted in the port’s net profit falling to $13.6 million in the six months leading up to December 31, compared to $17.2m a year earlier. Ports of Auckland Chief Executive Tony Gibson said things should rapidly improve from late April for importers and retailers waiting on goods, after four key recruited drivers arrive in the country.
