The Auckland High Court has ruled against a controversial proposal from the Cornwall Park Trust to turn Auckland Showgrounds, formerly known as ASB Showgrounds, into a film studio, Stuff reports. The case was brought to the Auckland High Court by Brent Spillane, managing director of XPO Exhibitions, which ran events such as Home Show, the Baby Show. “We are talking about a space that has been used for exhibitions, events and public recreation for over 150 years. I always debated that there was public good in maintaining this space, I am glad to see that upheld,” Spillane said.
