Times are lean at the Auckland Museum, Stuff reveals, with the iconic attraction asking ratepayers for more financial help. The museum has not had an increase in funding from its levy in three years despite inflation pressures. “Without a significant increase in the levy, it will be impossible to continue to maintain core museum services,” a spokesperson said. “We are immensely grateful to the ratepayers of Auckland for their ongoing support. It is vital in enabling us to provide free general admission for our Tāmaki manuhiri (visitors).”
