Newmarket shoppers trying to exit carpark trapped for hours

An Auckland man says he was stuck in Newmarket Westfield’s shopping centre car park for two hours, while trying to leave, Stuff reports. He was one of several disgruntled drivers who said poor design and heavy traffic kept them in long queues. One woman had to catch an Uber to the airport, due to her friend’s car being stuck in the queue for two and a half hours. Another shopper tagged Westfield and Auckland Transport in a Tweet, asking, “What’s the plan for this massive health and safety issue? My wife and child have been stuck for 1.5 hours…”
