An east Auckland resident is walking 10,000 steps daily in a bid to raise awareness and money for the respiratory community, Times reports. Respiratory conditions like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and sleep apnoea affect 700,000 (one in six) New Zealanders. Aimee Scott, owner of local gym Aimz Fitness, is one of those many Kiwis, having dealt with asthma since she was a child. “Living with asthma doesn’t mean you can’t participate in exercise, but that exercise should be used to help improve the strength of your lungs,” Scott says.
