A construction-damaged cycleway underpass has re-opened in Auckland, Stuff reports, with Waka Kotahi apologising for its slow response. It took Waka Kotahi and Auckland Transport 12 hours from the time of the damage on the Te Atatū underpass (part of the Northwestern Cycleway) to fully explain what was happening. Cyclists on their Monday morning commutes encountered fences across the lanes without proper detour signs. Local Board member Brooke Loader said she was horrified when she turned up at the interchange to find cyclists and pedestrians trying to find their way across five lanes of heavy traffic.
