Auckland Council approves over $15 million in funding for sport and recreation facilities

The Sport and Recreation Facilities Investment Fund is a 10-year, $150 million fund provided through Auckland Council’s 2021-2031 10-year Budget. Mayor Phil Goff says that this multi-million-dollar investment will enable more Aucklanders to be participate in community sport and recreation activities. Councillor Alf Filipaina says, “Sport and recreation are a major contribution to our quality of life, health and wellbeing. We’re proud to partner with sports organisations to enhance the lives of Aucklanders.”
