Concussions can be serious, even life-threatening, if not treated appropriately. But when it comes to laws governing this area – or even standard protocols governing every sport – New Zealand lags behind other countries. Now, reports Newsroom, groups are calling for national guidelines for responding to concussions in all sports – not just rugby. “We’ve got to look after our young people,” says New Zealand Rugby’s head of community rugby, Steve Lancaster.
