Kiwis are pledging to buy large amounts of Whittaker’s chocolate to annoy people who are criticising the company for celebrating Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, Newshub reports. The chocolate getting a rebrand is Miraka Kirīmi (Creamy Milk), in celebration of Māori language week. Notorious right-wing blogger Cameron Slater tweeted, “Go woke, go broke…” with a picture of the new packaging, but Kiwis have responded in support of the special edition chocolate. “Imagine being so racist that you’re triggered by a chocolate block,” said one. “Awesome to see Whittakers doing Te Reo,” said another tweet. “Official language of Aotearoa New Zealand.”
