Dead ducks and eels found in toxic Auckland stream

More than 50 dead ducks and several eels have been found in a highly polluted Auckland stream, Stuff reports. The wildlife, which have been dying over the past couple of months, were at the stream running alongside Portland Road Reserve, Remuera. High levels of E coli and enterococci were found when the water was tested earlier this month by Auckland Council. Earlier this month, an Auckland Council water quality report showed 29% of rivers were failing at least one national or proposed regional bottom line.
