A neglected guinea pig was mistaken for a wig when he was rescued by the SPCA, Stuff reveals, due to the excessive length of his coat. “I have been an inspector for eight years, and I can say hand-on-heart, I’ve never seen a guinea pig in this condition before,” said SPCA inspector Melissa Rush. Long-haired guinea pigs, such as G-Force, require “regular maintenance” otherwise their coats can become “matted and painful”.
