An Auckland rescue centre has rejected claims that it neglected its animals, but has scaled back operations after admitting it had been taking on too many at once, Stuff reports. Former SPCA inspector and New Lives Animal Rescue founder Donna Young​ claims she discovered unwell animals upon visiting Pixies Animal Rescue in Dairy Flat in September. Young did not believe the animals were deliberately neglected, but thought Pixies had taken on more than it could handle.
