Auckland’s Northcote wharf to close, a year after its $2.6m upgrade

Ferry services at Auckland’s Northcote Point are being suspended for six weeks, so improvements can be made to the wharf just one year after it received a $2.6 million upgrade, Stuff reports. Auckland Transport’s ferry services manager Gareth Willis admitted the closure of the wharf was not ideal. However, the improvements would benefit both crew and passengers, while future-proofing for the arrival of low-emission vessels, he said.
