There was an unusual visitor at Auckland’s Westfield train depot on Tuesday when staff spotted a seal pup hiding underneath a parked train, Newshub reports. The seal pup had likely worked its way up from the nearby Māngere inlet that backs onto the depot and was trying to escape from the heat. Fire and Emergency staff cooled the seal with water and managed to persuade the seal out from under the train. It was then herded into a holding area until the Department of Conservation (DoC) arrived.
