As if running the 42 kilometres of the full ASB Auckland Marathon wasn’t enough of a daunting task, one runner is preparing to tackle it barefoot – all in the name of charity, Stuff reports. This year’s event, now due to take place on January 23, will see Ben Sinnamon run the race sans footwear in a bid to raise money and awareness for KidsCan Charitable Trust. As a charity that provides quality clothing and footwear to school children in need, he hopes his naked soles will bring awareness to an issue he feels passionately about.
