After a day out swimming, an Aucklander thought the blocked ear which plagued him for the next three days was simply water, NZ Herald reports. His first visit to a doctor resulted in antibiotics and the instruction to blow a hairdryer into his ear. But a second visit, this time to a specialist, resulted in a cockroach being extracted from his ear in two parts, with tweezers and suction. The man is now pushing the message: Always seek a second opinion if you feel something is not right with your body.
