RNZ reports Aucklanders will be able to travel outside the region over summer and Christmas, with Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern confirming on the weekend. “What we have been working on,” she said, “is how we manage the demand that we are likely to see at the border as a result of that movement, which will be anywhere between 30,000 and 40,000 people to move.” She added, “We will not keep Aucklanders isolated to Auckland through that period – we simply cannot do that.”
