Earlier this week, Dr Michelle Dickinson – aka Nanogirl – hosted the first in a series of live webinars with educators across New Zealand. The Auckland-based TV scientist, who has a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, was inundated with questions, with more than 600 people tuning-in. Teachers and school staff submitted questions ahead of the session. The vaccine gave the immune system “flat-pack instructions” for how to attack the virus, Dickinson said. “No shortcuts were taken, it’s not experimental.” She will host further webinars this week with evening sessions also being organised.
