Before the government’s national day of vaccination push this weekend, Ōtara, Clendon and Burbank were the last Auckland suburbs to get 50% of their populations fully vaccinated, Stuff reports. But the latest figures from the Ministry of Health show they have finally made it over the line. It’s a huge success for Pasifika and Māori health providers in the area, who have been working tirelessly to get vaccinations up in the area. Manurewa Marae leader and Kiwi Fern Hilda Peters said getting out to people will keep improving vaccination rates. “A lot of our family out here in Manurewa are scared, they’re anxious, they do listen to stuff that’s put out on social media.”
