Auckland’s done the heavy lifting on Covid-19. Please have our backs in return

We’ve welcomed 170,000 New Zealanders home, 18 of the 31 MIQ hotels are in Auckland, and we’ve faced a very trying Lockdown Week 3: 700 residents in MIQ, dozens more in hospital, flash-floods hitting communities across the northwest, and a violent attack at Countdown LynnMall. “Aucklanders stepped up, and Tāmaki Makaurau will continue to do the heavy lifting to protect our borders from Covid-19. All we ask is that the rest of Aotearoa has our backs in return.”
