Covid-19: Stolen vaccine freezer component recovered from Auckland scrap metal yard

A critical component of an Auckland Covid-19 vaccine freezer, which would have been big enough to store five million doses of vaccine, has been recovered after allegedly being stolen over the weekend, Stuff reports. Two people were caught on camera taking the component from a business in Auckland’s Penrose. The business owner, who picked the component up from police on Tuesday afternoon, said, “[The alleged thieves] sold it to a scrap metal yard who saw the news on Saturday and let us know.”
