Auckland woman Shea Lauty has been left with life-changing facial injuries after being mauled by a dog in an Auckland reserve, Stuff reports. Lauty remains in Middlemore Hospital, following surgery to “put her face back together” after the attack in Onehunga on Monday. According to Lauty’s partner, Lasalle Carr, she had been walking their german shepherd, Beau, around Captain Springs Reserve during her lunch break, when she saw a man struggling to control one of his three pit bull terriers, and “one of them had already snuck up on her and started to attack their dog.”
