Improvements made to major event alcohol bans

Recurring temporary major event alcohol bans across the region will be extended, Auckland Council announces. The move aims to include more venues and surrounding areas after Auckland Council’s Governing Body approved proposed changes to its Alcohol Control Bylaw 2014 on April 29th. The amendments to the Alcohol Control Bylaw 2014 will come into effect beginning 1 June 2021. No changes on how alcohol licenses are applied on-site during the events have been made.
