Tuesday’s travel bubble announcement has sparked a rush for passport applications from Kiwis eager to jump across the ditch without having to quarantine on their return, NZ Herald reports. Te Tari Taiwhenua Department of Internal Affairs said passport applications were up by 45 per cent on Wednesday compared to the previous week, and online traffic to their web and passport application sites almost tripled. Online passport applications will be closed this weekend for a maintenance upgrade, but this will not affect applications already being processed.
