Auckland Mayor Phil Goff has welcomed the new announcement of a trans-Tasman travel bubble, Stuff reports. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced that quarantine-free travel between Australia and New Zealand will start on April 19, marking the start of what she describes as “a new chapter” in New Zealand’s Covid-19 response and recovery. Following the announcement, Goff declared it will allow families and friends to reunite and will give a much-needed boost to the city’s tourism and hospitality sectors.
