The government has officially opened 250 new homes in Auckland, including public housing and transitional homes, RNZ reports. Housing Minister Megan Woods opened a 167-unit apartment in Glen Eden and 83 transitional homes in Ōtahuhu. According to Woods, this is part of the government’s commitment to warm, dry homes. The capital needed to build the apartments was provided by the Ted Mason Foundation in partnership with Community Housing Provider, Compass Housing.
