South Aucklanders’s access to a priority Covid-19 vaccine is dependent on which side of a train track they live, Stuff reveals. As an example, John Topia, 78, is on the wrong side of the dividing line between Auckland and Counties Manukau District Health Boards. He will only receive his jab in May, despite his age being a factor for greater risk of Covid-19. Meanwhile, Simon Wall lives only a stone’s throw away from Topia, but on the other side of the tracks – Simon will get his jab next week. CMDHB was given priority as it covers most of south Auckland, which is the origin of the outbreak which led to the most recent Alert Level 3 Lockdown.
