Covid-19: Phil Goff says Aucklanders must get vaccine first

Auckland Mayor Phil Goff says Aucklanders must be prioritised for the Covid-19 vaccine, because they are at “greater risk” than any other region, NZ Herald reports. According to Goff, the city’s fourth Level 3 Lockdown emphasizes the fact that Auckland is at greater risk of community transmission compared to other cities or regions in the country. He also noted that the repeated lockdowns cause the city to lose an estimated 200 jobs and 30+ million dollars per day under Level 3 restrictions.
