Auckland University of Technology has denied allegations that the Pacific Media Centre is being dumped or sidelined, RNZ reports. The Centre’s former director David Robie raised concern about how AUT handled the PMC’s leadership succession and the removal of its physical office without a clear relocation. AUT’s School of Communication Studies, Dr Rosser Johnson, said the faculty opted for a call for expressions of interest in the leadership role instead of directly appointing someone – that call is set to go out this week. Johnson also added they were looking to make the Pacific Media Centre more visible and more integrated with the life of the faculty.
