Tamaki Makaurau’s Pop-up Globe theatre has filed for bankruptcy, due to Covid-19 recession, RNZ reports. The Covid-19 pandemic forced the Auckland theatre to close, making international touring impossible and drying up all income. The Pop-up Globe was a full-scale working replica of the London theatre, where many of Shakespeare’s plays were originally performed. Meanwhile, its two trading companies have been put into liquidation, and advice is being sought on its two other companies.
