Auckland lost $44m during its recent three-day Level 3 lockdown, Stuff reports. Electronics payment network Paymark said the lockdown has impacted the whole country’s spending, with Auckland and Northland spending down 21 per cent over the lockdown. In the Auckland/Northland region, there was little extra spending on either side of the lockdown, with a small increase in spending at food and liquor shops. Meanwhile, the rest of New Zealand which was under Alert Level 2, was down 2 per cent or a much more modest $6 million.
