Three new stations will be added to the southern train network with south Auckland’s increasing population, Stuff reports. With more than 40,000 new houses set to be built and 38,000 new jobs expected over the next 30 years, KiwiRail has committed to building two stations in Drury and one in Paerata. There is no timeline yet, but officials will meet in the next few weeks with stakeholders and community members to hear what they think about the proposed sites and what they want out of the new stations.
