Counties Manukau DHB is reviewing its emergency lockdown plans regarding dealing with crisis situations, in response to increasing threat of armed violence in south Auckland, Stuff reports. The issue was outlined in the minutes of a DHB meeting in the later part of 2020, after concerns were raised by board member Garry Boles about the heightened risk of armed violence in the community. The procedures are being designed for responding to abductions, firearms, offensive weapons (non-firearm) and chemical, biological, radioactive or explosive devices or substances requiring emergency services support.
