Auckland high schools short 30 teachers this year, 4000 students could go without

The Ministry of Education has forecast that Auckland secondary schools will be short of around 30 teachers in 2021, Stuff reports. The forecast came with the release of the Ministry’s Teacher Demand and Supply Planning Tool for the region on Thursday. Meanwhile, the region’s primary schools will have enough teachers to meet demand until 2023, with this demand then projected to decrease year-on-year-out to 2026.
