According to a report by the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA), 2020 was New Zealand’s seventh warmest year on record. Newshub says the nationwide average temperature for the year was 13.24C which was 0.63C above the 1981 to 2010 annual average. Leigh, a small community north of Auckland, was the warmest place overall. It averaged 16.9C.
