The Automobile Association has apologised after a customer with autism said he was pressured into buying membership despite not driving a car, NZ Herald reports. The family of the 22-year-old man said he initially declined an offer of membership at an AA branch on Auckland’s North Shore. But when the staff member asked him again to take up membership he felt overwhelmed and agreed to pay the $89 fee. “As soon as they’re not listening to him, the anxiety will switch on,” his mother said.
