Save lives by expanding high school driver training

Social Development Minister Carmel Sepuloni says better driver training and licencing can help young people with employment, caregiving, and road safety, NZ Herald reports. Universal or more widely-available driving training in high schools would cost about $2500 per student but would likely save lives, according to Driving Change Network. “The data shows people who progress to full licences have fewer accidents,” says national co-ordinator Wendy Robertson.
