New climate change research has pinpointed the places in New Zealand where sea level rise will greatly outpace the global prediction, Newshub reveals. For parts of our two biggest cities, Auckland and Wellington, the expected 30cm of sea level rise isn’t 40-50 years away, but just 10-20 years. By 2060, the rise will be approaching a metre in some places. This means Auckland’s Britomart will flood. The north-western motorway and Tamaki Drive will have big problems too.
