As a child, Karen Chapman was diagnosed with an intellectual disability. But whenever she is on a farm, tending to animals, it doesn’t feel like she has a disability at all, Stuff reports. Over the past 40 years, she has been able to live out her lifelong passion for milking cows while visiting farms between northern Waikato and South Auckland through the IHC Calf & Rural Scheme. She hopes to continue being a part of the rural farming community for as long as possible. “I’m happy as… I don’t want to give up on it,” Chapman says.
