Four pōhutukawa trees have died after a suspected poisoning at an Auckland reserve where trees have been vandalised in the past, Stuff reports. The trees were planted at Rothesay Bay Beach Reserve on the North Shore in October 2020 after a request from locals to create more shade and to spruce up the reserve visually. Auckland Council regional arborists and ecological manager David Stejskal confirmed the four trees had been vandalised.
