A south Auckland marae is establishing a community compost collection service that not only reduces waste, but will help the next generation learn about living more sustainability, The Spinoff reports. One key aspect of fuelling much of their output is compost, which can cost the marae up to $2,000 a month. But that’s all about to change, thanks to funding from Auckland Council’s waste minimisation innovation fund.
