The threat of the Omicron variant has caused a number of Auckland Pride events to be cancelled, but the celebration will still go ahead virtually, Stuff reports. “We are pivoting [the takatāpui art programme] Te Tīmatanga to move online, so that aspects of our inaugural takatāpui offering, and 50-year celebration can be accessed safely for 2022,” said creative director Elyssia Wilson-Heti.
