The Side Eye meets Ella Wilson, 107, one of the few living New Zealanders who remembers the influenza pandemic of 1918, The Spinoff reports. Ella is currently New Zealand’s fifth oldest person. She was four when her mother passed of the Spanish Flu. When asked about the key to a good life, she says it’s all about people – who you choose to surround yourself with. “I can’t tell you how to enjoy your life. It’s you and the people you mix with,” Ella said.
